The joint venture will supply two boilers with a capacity of 660MW each, for installation in Unit 1 and 2 of the power plant.
L&T-MHPS Boilers a joint venture between Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) and Larsen & Toubro (L&T).
Being developed in Tanda region of the state, the plant’s Unit 1 is scheduled to be commissioned in July 2018 and Unit 2 in January 2019.
The contractor is responsible for the production, installation and commissioning of the two boilers.
MHPS will deliver pressure parts, core components of the two large-scale boilers, to L&T-MHPS Boilers.
NTPC holds nearly 25% share in the country’s thermal power generation.
