L&T construction’s Metallurgical and Material Handling Business received a INR5bn ($79m) contract from Northern Coal Fields Limited for engineering, procurement and construction of a coal handling package at Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, India.
In addition, the unit also secured a contract for supply and erection of 700 liter bucket wheel excavators to Neyveli Lignite.
The Power Transmission & Distribution Business was also awarded a INR1bn ($15.8m) order for supply, erection, testing and commissioning of tower package for 400KV S/C & D/C transmission line at Kurnool and Nagapattinam under the transmission system associated with Krishnapatnam Ultra Mega Power Projects (UMPP)-Part C1.
Awarded by Power Grid Corporation of India (PGIC), the contract also includes design, engineering, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 400KV Nagapattinam GIS Pooling station under the common transmission system associated with Inter State Generator Station projects (ISGS) in Nagapattinam and Cuddalore areas of Tamil Nadu.
The company also recorded INR11.2bn ($177m) contracts from various ongoing projects of Heavy Civil Infrastructure and Water & Renewable Energy Businesses.
