For the company’s strategic partner, LS9 has utilized a 20-fold step-up process to produce about one ton of a specific chemical from initial production of 1,000 liters at the company’s pilot plant in California, US.

Through the first quarter of 2012, LS9 expects to make additional runs at the 20,000 liter level and continue to increase production to 50,000 liters with both their chemicals and fuels products.

The increases in production runs will enable the company to start the 135,000 liter fermentation vessel at its facility in Okeechobee, Florida.

The Okeechobee facility is currently being retrofit and is expected to be online by the first quarter of next year.

LS9 is a technology provider in the commercial development of sustainable products to meet the needs of fuel and chemical markets globally.
