Following the approval from Western Australia Department of Mines and Petroleum, the company will add an area of 200 km2 taking the total project area to 406 km2, reported Proactive Investors.
The move will boost its portfolio with a potential historic area Young River Graphite deposit that is identified to have similar geological style and quality to the Munglinup project.
Although, Young River does not have a defined resource, Lithex claims that area is also prospective for nickel and vermiculite mineralization.
The company is keen on undertaking geological mapping and sampling of the known graphite targets, determining their potential significance.
Meanwhile, it has recently concluded an airborne electromagnetic survey over tenements E74/517 and E74/53 at Munglinup project.
The preliminary field results identified a number of prospective graphite anomalies within the two tenement areas.
Also it has commenced the processing and interpretation of the survey data, besides plans to begin the drilling operation during the quarter.
