Lightsource Renewable Energy has completed grid connection at the 5.1MW Westwood solar project in Nottinghamshire, England, the UK.

Located between the villages of Kirton and Tuxford, the solar farm has been developed by Biosar Aktor and is estimated to generate enough energy for about 1,100 local homes.

Biosar Aktor is also responsible for operation and maintenance services for the project.

Lightsource, as part of a land management plan, planted new hedgerow around the site featuring native species of field maple, hawthorn and hazel.

Lightsource Renewable Energy managing director Kareen Boutonnat said: "As the UK’s number one solar energy company, we have set a precedent for exemplary standards across all of our projects.

"Early 2015 will see a strong focus on development for Lightsource as we stride towards our impressive 1 Gigawatt milestone."

Established in 2010, Lightsource Renewable Energy provides full service capability from initial design through to long term operations and maintenance.
