Data from about 5,700m of historic drilling from 64 drill holes within and near EPC 1949 has been recovered by MBGS and Liberty, substantially increasing geological information for Liberty.

The data, which has afforded Liberty significant drill cost savings, is being incorporated into the geological model to help drill planning and subsequent resource estimation.

Coal quality specialist Bob Leach has also been engaged by Liberty to determine the coal quality characteristics of coal seams identified within EPC 1949, particularly the Moranbah Coal Measures, while working closely with MBGS.

MBGS will help Liberty in exploration strategy, budgeting and supervision; exploration data compilation and geological interpretation, liaison with contractors, specialist consultants and coal testing laboratories; preparation of a geological model; and coal target identification and resource estimation.

For more than 40 years, MBGS has been advising the coal industry and has provided specialist services to companies including Xstrata Coal, Peabody, Anglo Coal and Rio Tinto.
