The mine operated by Anglo American is located in the lower Bowen Basin about 140km south west of Gladstone just outside Moura.
The one year contract value is estimated to be $120m.
The extension includes the additional excavator fleet to increase production capacity and scale up project management services.
The Dawson Mine is an open-cut coal operation with more than 174 million tonnes of existing coal reserves.
