Leader said that the proposal is in line with its power generation expansion plan to further improve the company’s future earnings in the business.
The parties have also reached an agreement for the development of a future 700MW coal-fired power generation facility in Sihanoukville.
The proposal follows the announcement of 200MW coal-fired power project in Sihanoukville, which was awarded to Power Synergy Corporation (PSC), a 50/50 joint venture of Leader and MKCSS Holdings of Cambodia.
Under the terms of the agreement, which is subject to regulatory and other approvals, Leader Cambodia will hold a majority 80% stake in CEL.
