Commonwealth Edison, a unit of Unicom Corp, plans to restart its LaSalle County nuclear plant unit 2 by 1 June. The unit last produced power on 20 September, 1996. During the shutdown, the company revamped around 1400 work processes and made 378 system and component modifications.
The utility plans to operate all ten of its nuclear units this summer. It expects to complete refuelling outages at Byron and Braidwood soon.
