An intelligent fault circuit indicator, the S610 Line Sensor can further extend the distribution monitoring capabilities of the Gridstream network.
In addition to providing fault location and accurate load logging from any point on the distribution network, the sensor can enhance visibility of distribution grid performance.
Landis+Gyr grid management solutions director Kent Hedrick said: "The S610 was designed to be easy to deploy and maintain, while providing fault analysis at the point of installation.
"The intelligent radio in the device reports fault-specific alerts that enable a utility to pinpoint location and analyze cause resulting in faster outage restoration. This makes the sensor a useful addition to the other grid management tools supported by Gridstream."
Developed by Landis+Gyr in partnership with Sentient Energy, the S610 comes with sensing current, conductor temperature and voltage characteristics as well as has GPS location identification and a precision clock.
