The publicly-owned nuclear power plant operator, Nuklearna Elektrarna Krsko, has awarded a $37 million contract to replace two steam generators at the Krsko nuclear station to a Framatome/Siemens consortium. They had already won the contract to manufacture the two steam generators.

The Krsko plant is co-owned by the electricity companies of Croatia and Slovenia. It is equipped with a two-loop pressurized water reactor with a gross power output of 664 MW. The plant started commercial operation in 1983. The replacement steam generators will be installed in 2000.
