Construction of a 200 MW biomass plant in Korea is set to start after Korea Midland Power Co secured over $500 million of finance for the project.

According to local reports, KEB Hana Bank and Hana Financial Investment have agreed to a finance package for the plant, which will be built in Gunsan No. 2 Industrial Zone, North Jeolla Province.

The 200 MW biomass plant will be the largest is South Korea and will be developed by Gunsan Bioenergy, a joint venture established by Korea Midland and its partners. It is due to start operating in mid-2020.
