Indian solar power developer Kiran Energy has unveiled a 55MW photovoltaic project in the Rawra village of Jodhpur district in Rajasthan.

Construction, engineering and procurement of the facility were undertaken by L&T and Mahindra EPC.

The facility is expected to produce 90,000MWh of clean electricity and reduce carbon emissions by 80,000 tons per annum.

The facility features three individual projects along with separate power purchase agreements with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam, reported the Hindu BusinessLine.

Kiran Energy currently operates solar power projects with a total installed capacity of about 80MW across Rajasthan and Gujarat.

The company is also considering the construction of a solar projects cluster – ranging from 50MW and 100MW – in the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.
