Australia-based exploration company Kibaran Resources has appointed Intermine Engineering Consultants to immediately commence work on a scoping study for its Epanko Graphite Prospect in Tanzania, in order to assess the viability of a commercial mining operation at the site.

The study will assess various throughput tonnages, and will utilize the inputs obtained from recent metallurgical test work activity and indicative pricing that the company believes it can achieve for its large size fractions.

Expected to be completed by the end of July 2013, the study will be based on the initial Inferred JORC-compliant Resource Estimate of 14.9 million tons at 10.5% TGC, for 1.56 million tons of contained graphite.

The results of the scoping study that follows favourable metallurgical test work results, will be released in accordance with the JORC code and ASX listing rules.
