The Cottages at Cypress Point are a custom-designed collection of 23 built-for-sale homesites, ranging from 2,200 to 2,500 square feet. Priced from $1.1m to $1.7m, the cottages are available in nine different floor plans, each of which is designed to complement the area’s centuries-old wooded setting. For a majority of the homes, buyers will select from The Monterey, The Leyland and The Vista floor plans. Cottage owners are also eligible for membership in the private Kiawah Island Club.
Chris Drury, president of Kiawah Island Real Estate, said: “The Cottages at Cypress Point exemplify Kiawah values – superior construction and design, and veneration for the Island’s natural beauty. The development team has pledged to follow a minimal-disturbance policy without sacrificing the quality and attention to detail that make Kiawah homes so dynamic – both in their setting and their structure.”
Cypress Point is situated next to the fifth hole of The River Course, one of Kiawah’s two private golf courses. KP’s residential- and landscape-architect teams worked together to create staggered building ‘envelopes,’ which will enable homeowners to enjoy both optimal privacy and tranquil views.
All cottages will be made of natural stucco, copper roofs and impact-resistant windows, and each home will feature a front and rear courtyard, along with a covered outdoor living area. Residents will also have access to the neighborhood’s private pool area.
Under the guidance of the Kiawah Island Natural Habitat Conservancy, a vegetative understory will be planted to increase natural surroundings for area wildlife. No clear-cutting will take place; each of the neighborhood’s grand trees will be left in its rightful place, with streets laid-out around them. Rainwater will be collected for landscape-irrigation purposes, and, to ensure minimal waste, care will be taken to recycle building materials.
