The environmental impact assessment (EAI) report related to the Kipevu thermal power plant was submitted by the company to the National Environment Management Authority (Nema).

The details for construction of the proposed phase II of 90-120 MW Kipevu III thermal plant is mentioned in the EAI report. The details include operation and demolition with anticipated impacts and mitigation measures and the construction of the plant.

Malwa Langwen, director of compliance at Nema, said: “Members of the public are invited to submit to Nema’s director-general oral or written comments with 30 days to assist the Authority in the approval process of the project.”
