Malaysia’s Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad (KDEB) has signed a memorandum of understanding to build a mini hydroelectric plant in West Sumatra.

The US$13M project will reportedly take roughly 36 months to complete and be built in Sungai Gumanti, Solok.

Other partners in the project are Malaysian-owned Core International Limited (a subsidiary of Smart Meters Technology), and Madco Group of Indonesia, according to a statement by Selangor.

KDEB is a conglomerate fully backed by the State Government of Selangor, Malaysia, that acts as the state investment arm.
