The block covers an area of 5,373 km², with a water depth of 200m to 2,300m, and the plans are underway to drill an exploratory well in the block by the third quarter of 2013.
PTTEPI owns 45% working interest and operatorship, while Total E&P Myanmar owns 40% and JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration (Myanmar) holds 15% working interest in the block.
JX NOEX has been investing in Myanmar, since it acquired the working interests in Block M-13 and 14, offshore Myanmar in 1991 and the working interests in Block M-12 in 1992.
