Germany-based renewable power developer juwi has completed the sale of two large-scale solar farms, totaling 12.48MW to Lightsource Renewable Energy.

As per the agreed terms, the company will continue to provide operations and maintenance at both the solar power projects.

The two solar farms are 3.88MW Ninnis Solar Farm in Cornwall and 8.61MW Hollies in Lincolnshire.

Commenting on the transaction, juwi Renewable Energies managing director Jan Sisson said that the company is pleased to contribute to the increasing installed base of renewables in the UK, with the sale of two solar projects.

Lightsource Renewable Energy CEO Nick Boyle said, "When comparing the UK with countries in Europe like Spain and Germany, solar PV here is still in its infancy. Collaborating with experts like juwi enable us to gain valuable experience and expertise, pushing the UK solar PV industry to maturity.

"Recent speculation that Britain will experience an ‘energy drought’ in 5 years’ time needs to be seriously addressed. Solar PV is a technology that can and will make a difference; we just need to pull together as an industry to show people that it can."
