Fulcrum operates in the US state of Texas under the names Tara Energy, Amigo Energy and Smart Prepaid Electric.
The consideration for this acquisition will be about $79.4m, subject to customary working capital adjustments, and the transaction is expected to close on or about 1 October 2011.
Just Energy will also pay up to $20m to US-based Fulcrum 18 months after the closing of the deal.
The business of Canada-based Just Energy primarily involves the sale of natural gas and electricity to residential and commercial customers.
