KPL-A, located in the northern area of the Kharsang field, will be drilled to a total depth of around 800m TVD and will be deviated by 272m towards the northeast.

The well, which is an infill well targeting the shallow C-50 and D-00 producing Girujan sand layers, is expected to encounter around 35m of net reservoir sand.

KPL-A will test the Upper Girujan C-50 and D-00 sand layers which are currently producing across ten existing wells ranging from 25 to 140bopd.

According to the company, this is the first development well of the seven-well phase three drilling campaign in the Kharsang field.

The field is operated by GeoEnpro Petroleum, a joint venture of Geopetrol and Jubilant Enpro.

Jubilant holds a 25% stake in the block through its subsidiary Jubilant Energy (Kharsang), and its project partners are Geopetrol and Oil India.
