The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) has signed a $90 million Overseas Development Agency (ODA) loan agreement with Egypt to finance the Kuraymat Integrated Solar Combined Cycle Power Plant Project.
The 150 MW project, to be located in the Kuraymat district, 100km south of Cairo, uses solar energy to generate steam for use in a conventional steam turbine genset.
Proceeds of the loan will be used for the procurement of materials and equipment, as well as for the consulting services necessary to construct an integrated solar combined cycle power plant.
