The purpose of the establishment of this new company is to design proposals for nuclear power plants projects in the emerging countries. The companies plan to use the new office as a platform to execute promotion activities prior to the launch of the new corporate entity.

The consortium intends to launch ‘International Nuclear Energy Development of Japan’ officially in the autumn of 2010, followed by the proposal of a package for the propagation of Japanese technologies and know-how that have been cultivated over many years.

The scope of work for the company will include actual power plant construction, O&M and human resource development, in accordance with the needs and expectations of the emerging nations with the legislative and financing support from the Japanese Government.

The METI, electric power companies, Tokyo, Chubu and Kansai, and plant manufacturers, Toshiba, and Hitachi and MHI, established a planning committee in June and has since been considering a public-private proposal that will aim to receive nuclear power plants project orders in Vietnam.
