To be operated in conjunction with New Energy Development Company, the venture, Noda Bio Power JP Company, will construct facilities in the village of Noda located in Iwate prefecture.

The new facilities will be capable of generating 96.48GWh of electricity with operations scheduled to commence in April 2016.

Power utility companies will purchase the energy generated by the new entity through the Japanese government’s Feed-in Tariff Scheme for renewable energy.

The new operations will contribute to the post-earthquake reconstruction efforts in Noda village and will create a recycling oriented society.

Additionally, Japan Pulp and Paper Company is participating in biomass energy generation operations located in Matsue city, Shimane prefecture intended to supply electricity to power companies.
