Under the collaboration agreement, JA Solar expects to supply Jabil with approximately 400MW of solar cells over the two years.
The company also plans to supply certified module designs for the manufacturing of up to 200MW per year of modules with JA Solar cells.
JA Solar intends to provide solar cells and additionally grant Jabil the right to manufacture the company’s OEM modules at Jabil’s solar facilities, including those in Mexico, Poland and China.
JA Solar and Jabil will further partner on marketing and selling the company’s modules to customers, especially in the US.
Jabil plans to begin the module production in the third quarter of this year.
