Spanish utility Endesa has acquired majority stakes in two combined cycle power plants located in Italy.

The acquisition of a 58.35% stake in both Centro Energia Teverola and Centro Energia Ferrara, which own the 150 MW plants, brings Endesa’s Italian capacity to some 7 GW.

Endesa acquired its stakes from Merloni Invest, MPE and Finelo while Foster Wheeler also holds the remaining equity in the two companies.

Centro Energético Teverola has a combined cycle plant located in the Emilia Romaña region in the north of Italy and Centro Energético Ferrara has a plant in Campania, in the south of the country.
