The Peace pipeline is a planned 2,775-kilometer line to deliver natural gas from Iran to Pakistan and India.
“The two sides are to set the date of signing the final contract in the meeting,” Iran’s Oil Minister, Hojjatollah Ghanimifard said.
The project is estimated to greatly help India and Pakistan, which do not have enough natural gas to meet their rapidly increasing domestic demand for energy.
The discussions over the project were initiated in 1994 but there are still many roadblocks to closing the three-way agreement because of tension between India and Pakistan.
