The AEOI is preparing national standards for nuclear fuel production, Solatsana said adding Iran has the standards of US, China, Russia, Japan and France for the production of fuel.

Solatsana said that Iran is making efforts its standards cover global standards.

Solatsana said Iran’s Isfahan Fuel Manufacturing Plant (FMP) is capable to make the required fuel assemblies for Arak nuclear facility in 2009.

Presently, Iran now working on the process of nuclear fuel production including expansion of capabilities, reducing its expenses and optimizing the methods, Solatsana said that Iran has got access to nuclear fuel knowledge and is trying to complete it.

The FMP is the latest stage of nuclear fuel cycle which was completed by Iran.

Mohsen Delaviz, AEOI spokesman said that Arak all home-made nuclear facility needs some 150 fuel assemblies and it will be launched in 2011.
