FARS News Agency cited Mardani Fard as saying to Uzbek daily Asr-e Jadid that: "Tehran has declared its readiness to transfer one million tons of oil annually to be refined in Uzbekistan."
Iran signed nine-article cooperation pact with Uzbekistan on railway cooperation in October 2008 following a two-day meeting in Tehran.
Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in October 2010 that the railway will change the transportation paradigm to link Iran to Turkmenistan and then to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
Ahmadinejad said: "This (railway) network changes the region’s transportation map and pattern."
The railway from Iran will link through Turkmenistan and then to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, and will connect to the CIS countries with the Indian Ocean and high seas and the Persian Gulf littoral states.
The total railway route is 1000km, of which 90km would be in Iran, 700km in Turkmenistan and 210km in Kazakhstan.
