The company has received Class B Shareholder approval the Wiggins Island Export Terminal (WICET) Consortium delivering new port facilities near Gladstone.

B Class shareholding provides increased access to information on access availability and progress at the terminal, including the WICET Strategic Plan for International Coal.

The approval marks a significant initial step toward gaining future rail and port access for the Bundaberg and Consuelo projects once they are developed, the company said.

International Coal chief executive officer Glenn Simpson said, "We are interested in hearing from service providers with a strong capability in coal exploration."

The Bundaberg Project is a hard coking coal deposit located near potential port development sites at Bundaberg and only 160km south of Gladstone and Wiggins Island.

Currently, International Coal is planning a start small exploration program later this year at Consuelo project near Rolleston in the Bowen Basin located less than 20km to the Blackwater Rail System that feeds into coal terminals at the Port of Gladstone.
