INPEX, Centrica Resources, a subsidiary of Centrica plc and Statoil (UK) have jointly won the license.
The P2019 license is situated in the offshore around 60km northwest of Shetland Island, to the north of the previously awarded two licenses.
The license will be operated by Centrica, which holds 35% participating interest, while INPEX holds 30% participating interest and Statoil owns 35% participating interest in the license.
The JV is planning to conduct seismic interpretation to explore for oil and natural gas in the licenses.
