Indian Minister of Power, Suresh Prabhu, said that targets of adding 100,000MW of additional generation by the end of the tenth and eleventh year plan may be revised. The ministry is to conduct a study to estimate the actual demand for power over the next 10-12 years.
Prabhu indicated at the Conference on Hydro Power, organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, that the revised target may be lower.
