The 1000MW Karcham Wangtoo project on the Satluj River in Himachal Pradesh, India, is expected to be completed three months ahead of schedule, project developer Jaiprakash Power Ventures has announced

A spokesperson for the company told the Times of India that the project is likely to be fully operational in August this year. One turbine at the project has already begun power generation, and a second is being trialled.

The 4x250MW turbines for the project have been supplied by a consortium of andritz Hydro and voith-siemens.
