The fourth largest hydro project in the country is located on the river Victoria Nile, in Kamuli District.

Meanwhile, the funds were allotted after a bilateral meeting between the Indian delegation led by External affairs minister Salman Khurshid and Uganda, reported New Vision.

Khurshid remarked that Uganda is emerging as a leading oil and gas producer, and with a burgeoning young population it has the potential to change the people’s livelihoods.

In addition, Uganda Foreign affairs minister Sam Kutesa said that India would aid the country to develop its energy sector alongside other sectors such as defence and security and agriculture and food processing.
