Montreal based Boralex an independent power producer, has created an income trust fund.
The fund will acquire hydroelectric facilities owned by Boralex in Beauport, Buckingham, Rimouski, Saint-Lambert, as well as its thermal and biomass facilities, all located in Quebec, Canada. The fund will also acquire from RSP Hydro Trust, a hydroelectric complex of three power stations, located in Forestville, Quebec.
The total installed capacity of the Boralex facilities is in excess of 131MW, with an expected annual production of 820 gigawatts of power.
These power plants have signed long term power purchase agreements with Hydro-Quebec.
