Incitor is a developer of conventional petro-chemical fuels with bio-fuels that are compatible with both gasoline and diesel.
The company’s patent-pending low-temperature chemical process breaks down biomass from agricultural, solid, woody or algal waste and to create bio-fuels. Using this technology bio-fuels can be manufactured at $2/gallon cost.
Cottonwood Technology Fund managing director David Blivin said that the company believes in Incitor’s unique low cost chemistry, which brings new economics to the bio-fuels and bio-chemicals industries.
"In addition, their inclusion of alcohols (methanol and ethanol) in their synthetic process creates interesting opportunities to create higher value products from ethanol and natural gas," added Blivin.
"We couldn’t be more excited in supporting Incitor’s management in bringing their technology to market."
Incitor CEO John Elling said, "Cottonwood’s support will enable Incitor to rapidly commercialize its unique biofuel and biochemical production processes."
Incitor will scale up its processes to produce 15,000g to 30,000g per annum for the demonstration facility.
