Siemens is to supply key components for a new combined cycle power plant in Incheon near the South Korean capital Seoul under a contract with state-owned utility Korea Midland Power Co (KOMIPO).

Siemens will supply the power island for the plant comprising two SGT6-4000F gas turbines, one SST6-5000 steam turbine and three generators as well as the entire electrical and instrumentation and control equipment. The contract is worth approximately $180 million.

The plant is scheduled to start commercial operation in the summer of 2009.

Siemens also built Incheon I, completed in 2005.
