The three projects with a total 286,300-square-foot photovoltaic (PV) array will produce a combined 2,654,000 kWh of clean electricity annually.

The retailer uses the energy produces by the solar installations reducing carbon emissions by 1,830 tons per annum.

Commenting on the installations IKEA Conshohocken store manager Kevin Bohon said "This solar installation is another example of how IKEA can build on our ongoing commitment to sustainability."

IKEA South Philadelphia store manager Lisa Christensen added, "Solar panels help reduce the store’s carbon footprint and allow us to improve what we do today for a better tomorrow."

The installations in Philadelphia mark the 29th solar power installation at IKEA’s stores spanning 14 locations and generating a total of 38MW energy.
