Ishlkawajlma-Harlma Heavy Industries Co (IHI) has set up a joint venture in China to develop flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) systems, Nikkei Weekly reports. Aiming for annual sales of ¥4.8 billion ($45 million), the company will design, procure, install and maintain FGD equipment.

Capitalised at around $6 million, IHI holds a 25 per cent stake in the venture with the remainder held by local Chinese interests.
