The amount will be utilised by the firms to finance feasibility studies and small scale investments in clean technologies over the next two years.

The program will target firms in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua regions and will prompt the firms to invest more than $15m in energy efficiency improvements over the next two years.

The program will allow the firms to save on their utility bills through measures such as better insulated buildings, efficient appliances and lightning, and also identify opportunities for on-site, self supply renewable energy projects.
