The signing of the agreement fulfils the undertaking between Iberdrola and Grupo de Empresas Agrarias (GEA) to reach a rapid adjustment to the deregulated market of the irrigated farming sector, following the disappearance of concessionary tariffs for agricultural irrigation on July 1, 2008.

GEA has been representing and defending the interests of holders of farming businesses in all its sectors of activity since 1998. The group members’ annual volume of energy consumption amounts to 500GWh.

Iberdrola’s nationwide network of agents will carry out a personalized energy audit for the farming businesses in order to optimize contract options, hours of use and the installation of efficiency measures.
