Spanish generation major Iberdrola has won a tender from Electricité de France (EdF) that grants a licence to sell up to 54 GWh of electricity in France.

The move to sell capacity in France comes as part of a concession to the EU over power market competition in exchange for approval of an EDF plan to buy a stake in German utility EnBw.

According to local media, Iberdrola plans to continue importing all the power for French consumers from Endesa.
