As per the power purchase agreement, FirstEnergy will purchase 100MW of the total output of the project, which is being built by Iberdrola, for 20 years beginning in October of 2012.
Construction for Blue Creek wind farm began in September, and is expected to be completed within the year.
The wind farm is expected to bring approximately $1.1m in annual lease payments to local landowners, $2.7m in annual local taxes and local purchase of some supplies and construction materials.
The wind power project will include 152 Pennsylvania-built turbines rated at 2MW each.
