Iberdrola has selected Siemens to implement coordination of Rochester Gas & Electric (RGE) and New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG), into a single system with the Spectrum Power energy management system.
The energy infrastructure project is scheduled to ship and install in 2013.
Iberdrola USA said its two sites, RGE and NYSEG located in New York, US, required the replacement of their legacy platforms.
The replacement will address technical obsolescence, utilizing commercial off-the-shelf products that operate as an integrated system and increase operational efficiency.
As part of the project, the NYSEG and RGE models will be integrated into a single network model to improve operational efficiency.
Spectrum Power is a message-based SCADA platform, with application functionality provided by separate components.
Spectrum Power is integrated into a powerful products and solutions which allows swift adaptation of electric power systems to new conditions.
