The Dos Arbolitos plant is planned in the town of Juchitán de Zaragoza, Oaxaca, and Ganesa has been commissioned to oversee the construction of the project. The project will feature 35 Gamesa wind turbines with 2MW capacity each.
The company estimates that the power generated from the project can cater to nearly 150,000 Mexican homes, and reduces carbon dioxide emission into the atmosphere by around 560,000 tons annually.
Iberdrola has scheduled the operational commencement of the project in 2014. It will increase company’s wind power capacity to 278MW in Mexico with this project.
Other wind projects of the company in the country include 80MW La Ventosa, 102MW La Venta III and 26MW Bii Nee Stipa.
