The $2bn facility is capable of separating, desulfurizing, and refining 1.6billion cubic barrel feet of natural gas per day.
The facility produces methane feed gas for GTL process and by-products including ethane, propane, and butane in addition to 140,000 barrels of ultralow-sulfur diesel, naphtha, LPG, and condensate daily.
Hyundai Heavy has secured this project in association with Chiyoda Corporation in 2006 as part of a $20bn project involving 12 engineering companies.
Hyundai Heavy official said upon operation at full capacity, the facility will produce be able to produce as much as 3% of current global diesel capacity.
