A lavish ceremony marked the commissioning of a hydroelectric power plant in the Hangyong-Namdo province in North Korea’s northeast on Thursday.
The power station will normalise energy supply to local plants and residential areas, supply them with drinking water as well as provide enough water for irrigation.
A message by North Korean leader Kim Jong II was read out during the ceremony; in it he thanked the constructors of the project for their fast and efficient work.
