China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has decided to adjust the on-grid tariffs of the power plants in order to ease the operation difficulties of the enterprises operating coal-fired power plant and to ensure a normal order for their power production and operation.

According to the approved tariff adjustment plan, the average on-grid tariffs, including value added tax, of the company’s coal-fired power plants would be increased by RMB22.51 per MWh, an increase of around 5.67%. The increase took effect on August 20, 2008.

Huaneng Power International has a total generation capacity of 36,993MW on an equity basis and a controlling installed generation capacity of 40,389MW.
