The project, which got approval from National Development & Reform Commission in September 2011, would be put into use at the end of 2013 as per the plan, reports Anhui.

The 656km-long transmission line project will start from Huainan transformer substation and run through South Anhui, transformer substation of North Zhejiang, and end at Huxi transformer substation of Shanghai.

Once completed, the project is expected to ease tight power supply in East China. The power supply in the long run is anticipated to reach 10 million kW.
