Hydro Honduras expects to complete the licensing requirements for the 40MW Cangrejal hydro project in early 2003. The licensing of the project has dragged on due to delays in the finalization of the environmental impact statement for the project.
The concession for the project is held by a consortium of companies made of Hydro West of the US, Italy’s Astaldi and Ghilla, as well as Honduras’s Emce. Anticipated annual power generation from the project will be 150GWh.
